Mahogany and Cherry Chessboard
The chessboard is the first thing that people comment on when they visit our camp in Maine. They love it and so do we!
The grain of the Mahogany and Cherry is beautiful. The individual velvet-lined compartments within the board for each of the pieces adds to the beauty of this piece. We highly recommend John's work.

Bathroom cabinet is perfect
Perfect! The bathroom vanity is exactly what I had in mind when I asked John at Sawdust Village for design ideas. I didn’t want a big, box store, bathroom vanity, but we were on a budget. I also wanted simple, yet not quite rustic. I went to John with my vague ideas and a picture ripped from a magazine. Built off-site, the vanity is a perfect fit for our Vermont lake home! John’s work is meticulous and we are delighted with the end result.

Gorgeous live edge table
We needed a small coffee table and the apartment-sized tables available at furniture stores just didn’t have the character we were looking for. We talked to John, at Sawdust Village, who worked with us to design a small, live edge table. This gorgeous piece is solid and original-It exceeded our expectations! I love that there is not a nail in site!

Moselee loves it
What a great addition to our kitchen. Moselee's bowls have been moved off the floor where we were constantly tripping over them. The stand is the perfect height and the removable legs made shipping it across the country easy and economical.

Not just any case
I needed a wooden case built for an antique (circa 1850) English concertina. But not just any case. I had matching cases built for two other concertinas around 30 years ago, and I wanted this case to visually match those cases. And of course, the measurements of the case had to be exactly right for the instrument. John worked with me to get everything just right: the type of wood, the dimensions, and the color of the stain. The result was both beautiful and as close a match to the existing cases as I could have hoped for.

Custom bookcase/window seat
We hired Sawdust Village to build and install a bookcase/window seat, that had to accommodate an existing radiator-and it had to be built at their shop and put together in our home. I was concerned, because it had to be a perfect fit. I had nothing to worry about! The precision work that these craftsmen do is amazing. They arrived on time, their work was neat, with no mess left behind and the bookcase unit is a perfect fit. It looks like the house was built with the unit!
